Levett Takes Three At Donnington
Chris Levett (Class ‘A’) and David Ball (Class ‘B’) were the dominant drivers in the latest rounds of the action-packed 2009 Delphi British Truck Racing Championship at Donington Park this weekend (August 8/9) – taking three wins apiece in their respective class races.
A beautiful sunny summer weekend saw plenty of close racing – in both the heavyweight categories – and some of the support races…. including Scooter racing!
While Levett and Ball collected all the silverware in the six championship races between them, there was a shake-up to the form book in the non-championship ‘Track Attack’ Grand Final on Sunday; the early laps were led by Elton Boocock – until the quicker Class ‘A’ machinery started to catch the ‘B’ class boys.
Then it was a tremendous scrap for the podium places between Mat Summerfield, Stuart Oliver and David Jenkins.
Just 0.512s. split the trio at the chequered flag…with Summerfield just hannging on for victory in what Oliver described as “an extremeley wide ERF truck” !
Now the Brits have just five days to re-prepare before the action starts again with the Thruxton International event on August 15/16.
