The Bird's Motorsport team will unfortunately not be attending the forthcoming Thruxton event (August 2/3) due to an on-going situation. Chris Levett will be back in action for the next round the FIA European Truck Racing Championship at the Autodrom Most (Czech Republic) on August 30/31.
The history of Birds Motorsport can be tracked back to the beginnings of British truck racing itself. Andrew Levett was on the original line up at Donnington in 1984. After 6 successful years in the sport, Andrew Levett stepped out of the cab for the final time. 16 years later saw the return of the West Midlands team in the form of Chris Levett. Chris began as a driver for the famous Atkins racing in 2006, following in the footsteps of Steve Parrish. He has had a lot of success himself running in both the FIA European Truck Racing Championship and The Delphi British Truck Racing Championship.
In 2007, Andrew Levett came back to the track and the 2 blue MAN’s demonstrated how truck racing can be done. Factory backed and running at the front of the pack bearing the number 8, Birds Motorsport are at the forefront of Truck Racing development and will be chasing down victory for 2008.
